My wife, Sharon and I started Eden Care over 10 years ago as we have a special son, Patrick, who requires 24 hour care. At the time we were unhappy with the quality of the care available and decided to try and make a difference by setting up provision that was both person centred yet respected the need to work with the family and loved ones of the person receiving care and support. Patrick is one of five children living at home and we felt it important that anyone coming into our home engaged with and respected the whole family and not simply adopt a transactional or functional role as carer.
My background is somewhat eclectic, with a doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, an undergraduate degree in Psychology, while also a qualified Chartered Accountant. During a long career, I have been fortunate to live and work abroad in my early career in both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Australia, whilst more recently I held senior international roles working for a global corporation, after working in a boutique management consultancy, and having enjoyed a spell in a family construction business whilst opening a bar and restaurant.
Without doubt Eden Care is the pinnacle of my career as this team is able put something back into society, working with individuals and their families and loved ones, who are at a stage in their lives where they require assistance with the daily tasks of life, enabling individuals to achieve their optimum level of independence, health and well-being. What could be more important and fulfilling.
We are committed to making a difference, supporting clients achieve optimum levels of independence, health and well-being.
